1773 Declaration Justice James Wilson Signed Alexander Hamilton Case(Same Name)

Description: James Wilson--Declaration Signer, Supreme Court Justice, Signed Document 1773. James Wilson did a bit of everything for the young United States. He helped draft and signed the Declaration of Independence. (Founder). He helped draft and signed the United States Constitution. (Framer). He was one of the first United States Supreme Court Justices. He did a number of academic lectures on the Constitution at what became the University of Pennsylvania, which are a primary source for early Supreme Court decisions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Wilson_(Founding_Father) Before he did all this, he was a successful attorney in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. His "Wilson" is how he signed these court documents. On the other side, John Agnew was the County Clerk. I purchased this item a number of years ago. Other links to Wilson signatures of same time, are included below. https://www.ebay.com/itm/373293429684?hash=item56ea05b3b4%3Ag%3AUn8AAOSwTwtfk3Hc&nma=true&si=a5ENI3tbCB4ysae5lXe2wDB5ZDM%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.vintagemaineimages.com/artifact/101339/cart https://www.raabcollection.com/james-wilson-autograph/james-wilson-signed-sold-document-signed-wilson This item has a fascinating potential of being related to another Framer/Founder Alexander Hamilton, whose name is as a defendant in the civil case. It is true, there's very little to alibi young Alexander during this year period of 1773. This was after he had set sail from the Caribbean, but before he began his studies at Columbia University. (And before he was General Washington's aide-de-camp) He was generally around Elizabethtown, New Jersey, not so terribly far from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. https://founders.archives.gov/?q=Project%3A%22Hamilton%20Papers%22&s=1111211111&r=1 However, my research has turned up there was very likely another "Alexander Hamilton" who was related to "James Hamilton" at this time in Cumberland County. So while not 100%, it's extremely likely, this is the true source of the named civil Defendant. It is intriguing there was an Alexander and James Hamilton, the same names as the Hamilton brothers from Nevis and St. Croix, living near James Wilson. Is it possible that young Alexander Hamilton, was visiting his distant cousins or some relation, and got into some trouble to get a civil citation? (If so, this episode should have been in the play Hamilton. I suppose it's possible, but unlikely.) That said, the early handwritten version of this document, signed by James Wilson, is in very good condition, and having Alexander Hamilton as a named Defendant, adds even more value to the item. Don't feel shy, but be aware I likely consider this to already be a reasonable price and a good deal. I am in the process of going through my comic book and historical document collection to sell on E-bay. Will probably put up new items, about twice per week. The comic books have many keys and minor keys, mostly silver and bronze age, but some golden age comics as well. The historical documents, may be quite rare and sometimes unique items.
