The forks are done in a traditional form, with distinct upward turned handles, each adorned with a pip on the end. The forks are well made from thick, heavy gauge silver, with nice weight and balance in the hand. Each fork has an engraved crest of a stag's head caboshed, with an arrow or spear point between the horns. This set of forks is in great overall condition. There are some knife marks to the backs of the tines, but nothing excessive. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Four of the forks are hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter n for 1828, King George IV's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for William Chawner II.
