Lee, The Duke of Marlborough, etc. Volumes 3-4 feature famous Statesmen and Sages such as Archimedes, Aristotle, St. Augustine, Francis Bacon, Augustus Caesar, Charles I of England, Oliver Cromwell, Elizabeth I of England, Martin Luther, Isabella of Castile, John Adams, Edmund Burke, George Washington and Andrew Jackson. Volumes 5-6 feature famous Workmen and Heroes such as Aeneas, Robert Bruce, Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, Joan of Arc, Leif Ericson, Sir William Wallace, Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra, Benedict Arnold, Marie Antoinette, Florence Nightingale and William Wilberforce. All volumes contain fabulous photogravures, wood engravings and typogravures by various artists such as Jean Paul Laurens, Evariste Carpentier, Benjamin Constant and Jules Jean Lecomte-du-Nouy. They all have some wear and rubbing to the leather covers and binding as well as page edges and some pages have foxing and age-related discoloration.
