Description: Maker and marks: On the reverse of this pair of beautiful gold encrusted plates is a green "Hand Painted M.M." mark attributed to the renowned porcelain maker Moriyama of MoriMachi, Japan. The factory was established in 1909 in Shizuoka Prefecture by Hidekichi Nakamura. Design: Raised gold beading or moriage is the background for bold hand painted chrysanthemums accented with bright green leaves. Size: The plates are 7 1/2 inches wide and together weigh 15 ounces. Condition: They have no marks, nicks, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, crazing or repairs. Both have a section of wear in the gold beading and wear to the edges - these are shown in the photos with the red arrows and are visible in other photos. One plate has a shallow chip on the back rim - that too is shown in the photos. Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
