Congo, Michael Crichton, Hardcover, Book Club Edition, First Edition, Vintage Congo by Michael Crichton is one of his most famous works, a fine read, and the subject of a film in the nineties starring James Spader hot off the success of Stargate. This particular copy is either an Advance Reader Copy or a Book Club Edition. There is no Dust Jacket, so it's hard to know for sure. What makes it seem as though it might not be a book club edition is the quality of the book itself. It has a red spine and a blue cover. Most book club editions are matte black and very cheap. However, regardless of it being a BCE or an ARC, this is a first edition, and it was either printed before or simultaneous to the mass market print. The book has some mild ruffling around either end cap of the spine, but nothing exceptional. Pages are unmarked and sit securely in the binding. Given the lack of a dust jacket and the uncertainty as to which iteration of first edition this is, this book has been priced lower than would perhaps be recommendable. 304 Numbered Pages. Single Price: $39.99 Dragons Teeth, A Novel, Michael Crichton, Relatively Unknown, First Edition This like-new edition is a first printing, first edition from a master of the genre. Dragon Teeth begins in the 1800s and includes intrigue and adventure surrounding archeological pursuits in that time. This particular book is relatively unknown, as many of Crichton's later works are. It is in pristine condition and appears as though it has never been read. It is expected Crichton will continue to appreciate in value as time goes by; this is a fine volume for any collector, or a fan of Crichton's work. Single Price: $49.99 Pirate Latitudes, Michael Crichton (2009, Hardcover) 1st Ed./1st Printing Michael Crichton was a medical professional, an author, a film director, and more. He was an excellent writer and well-regarded in multiple fields and genres, though his specialty was always adventures of the thriller variety. Pirate Latitudes was published after Mr. Crichton passed away, in the following year. This particular copy of the book is in pristine, near-perfect condition. It is hard to find any detail of this book, in the dust jacket or the book itself, that appears damaged. It's a true stated first edition, first printing, and essential for the Crichton collector. This book is 312 pages long, and was discovered among his files as a complete manuscript after his passing. Single Price: $79.99 Sphere By Michael Crichton 1987 Knopf HC/DJ BCE Novel Borzoi Book Sphere is a classic work of fiction that is equal parts terrifying and intriguing. It's ostensibly "hard" science fiction; though don't ask deep sea divers if the fire mechanics of the movie hold up, or if certain plot elements hold up. Crichton does in-depth research, though; so many of his observations and suppositions do continue to bear scrutiny. At any rate: this copy of Sphere is in excellent condition, the book was originally kept in a library, and is not printed as a discard, nor was it damaged with any categorization markings. There is a stamp indicating the library on one of the book's blank inside pages, that's it. The Dust Jacket has some tears and is in good condition, though requires careful treatment. The book itself may not even have been read; it's that clean. Single Price: $200.00 State of Fear, Michael Crichton, 1st ed./1st print, HB, collectible 2004 State of Fear by Michael Crichton provides exposition into issues regarding global warming propaganda that has been relentless over the last several decades. Crichton provides essays in exposition of this propaganda at the end of the book, and exposition into how the lie is perpetuated in an adventure yarn with a protagonist acting as a thesis vehicle. The book is a fine read, and extremely eye-opening. This book is in near perfect condition, the only feature out of balance being the top of the dust jacket, where some ruffling is evident, and a tear less than .5 in. in length on the outside edge of the dust jacket's back cover. The dust jacket has some very mild scuffing only evident under proper lighting, and consistent with its 20 year age. Otherwise, the book is pristine, pages sit firmly in the binding, cursory examination reveals no markings from previous owners on the interior. This is a true first edition, first printing of a very important book. 603 numbered pages. Single Price: $39.99 Total Price: $409.96 Minus 30% Bundled Discount: $286.97
