Description: A nice ceramic pear shape Birnkrug with pewter lid decorated with a man smoking and drinking near his home in a wooded landscape, first half of the 19th century. It is a nice example in very good condition for age. Normal wear from handling, some typical oxidation to pewter lid, some scattered bites/small losses mainly to bottom rim, etc. Pewter lid strap on handle slides both ways if lid is operated, I’m sure it can be tightened somehow or a shim added.
