Description: Up for sale is an antique Victorian sterling silver pocket watch chain with a sterling silver fob. The most beautiful chain stitch - thin at both ends and wide in the middle. Each link of the chain is hallmarked with a "lion passant" for sterling silver and the middle of the chain is marked with a "JS star"- into an indented rectangle for a silversmith. The T bar is marked "JS star" -into an indented rectangle for silver master/ "lion passant" for sterling silver /"m" for 1896, the dog clasp is marked with "JS star" -into an indented rectangle for silver master/"lion passant" for sterling silver /"m" for 1896. The fob is escutcheon shaped,the cartouche is not engraved, the reverse is hallmarked : "WA"-William Aitken for a silversmith /"anchor" for Birmingham/ "lion passant" for sterling silver and "x" for 1922.
