Description: You are looking at, or bidding on, a game-used baseball bat of "Steady" Eddie Murray. The bat is a Professional Model Cooper C243 which Murray used with multiple teams throughout his career. It shows various game-use characteristics including, but not limited to, Official National League Major League baseball markings (black in color), dried pine tar residue, and Eddie's #33 on the handle of the bat (see photos). The black Official National League Major League baseball baseball markings suggest that this bat was used by Murray while he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1989-1991) or the New York Mets (1992-93). Please note that the bat is broken and is missing some small pieces. According to the handle, the bat is 35.5 inches long and weighs 32 ounces. I do not have access to Murray's baseball bat factory records, but I know they are available if you know the right people! I have spent hours trying to photo match the bat to a particular game, but have not come across a definitive match; however, I am pretty confident that the bat was used sometime from 1989 to 1993 during his tenure with the Dodgers or Mets. The darkened burn marking under the Cooper emblem should help a future owner of this bat make a photo match to one or more games that Murray used this specific bat. Eddie Murray was one of Major League Baseball's biggest stars during the 1980's and 90's. He appeared on eight different All-Star teams and won multiple Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards. He was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1977 and a key player on the 1983 Baltimore Orioles World Series team. He finished in the Top 5 for League MVP voting six different seasons and drove in 75 or more runs every single year from 1977 to 1996. His biggest accomplishments include being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983, hitting 504 home runs, and collecting 3,255 hits. He is just one of five of major league baseball players to have 500+ home runs and 3,000 hits without using performance enhancing drugs. This bat has been stored out of direct sunlight in a bat tube in a smoke and pet free home since it was acquired. It would make an excellent addition to an Eddie Murray or a national major league baseball hall-of-fame game-used bat collection!!! Additional pictures (and information) about the bat are available upon request. The winning bidder of this auction is responsible for including thirty dollars ($30) for costs related to shipping and handling. The bat will be shipped safely via Priority mail (USPS) within two days after payment is received to addresses in the domestic United States only (i.e. no international shipping). Please note my 100 percent feedback rating, and ask all questions prior to bidding. Thanks in advance for your time and interest!
