Description: British Parliament 1925 Vintage Lithograph Frederick William, the Great Elector, Welcoming the French Refugees Standing in front of the town palace in Potsdam is the Great Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg. On his right is his wife and on his left the crown prince (later King Frederick I) with wife and entourage. To the right, the Privy Counsellor Ernst von Grumbkow is presenting a group of Huguenots to the sovereign. At the head of the group is a minister who has removed his hat and is bowing to the Great Elector, rendering the homage and the gratitude of the group. The elderly gentleman stepping down from the sedan chair is David Ancillon. The reception of the Huguenots in Potsdam took place on 10.
