The T6 Pro comes with a UWP mounting system, cover plate, and mounting hardware along with the product literature. The UWP mounting system is where all the wires for your HVAC system will connect. Then, the T6 slides onto the mounting plate. It is always recommended that you have an HVAC professional service your HVAC system, but improvements in the manufacture of items like the T6 make replacing your own thermostat fairly simple. Be sure power has been removed from the HVAC system. Take a picture of the existing wiring before removing the existing thermostat. Match that wiring up with the new thermostat mounting system, slide the thermostat into place, and power back up. In addition to its features as a thermostat, the Honeywell Home T6 Pro also has a Z-Wave Plus chip inside. This means that the thermostat can interface with a Z-Wave controller, allowing its operation to be controlled from anywhere. Z-Wave Plus devices have about 50% better battery life than original Z-Wave devices. That doesn't mean that you have to run the thermostat on battery power only.
