Description: This is Levi's® 501 Shrink to Fit Dark indigo (almost black, fades to blue) jeans dated mid to late 2000's. Bought NWT, it is up for sale because after initial soak (part of the shrink to fit process), the pair has shrunk more than expected. The good news is you can expect this pair to stay at this size for a long time. It's been soaked once, hung dry, and ironed (inside out) utilizing cautious technique with cloth barrier to preserve fabric. Tagged 32x32, after soaking these measure 16" waist and 29.5" inseam. See photos for additional measurements. Unlike the 501® Shrink to fit jeans that are sold today, these jeans were stitched with seemingly thicker thread and with a high quality seam. Another feature that makes them stand out from the 501® STF's that retail close to $80 at the present, are that the back pockets as well as the right side coin pocket are chain stitched as seen in the images. Levi's® for the most part has now done away with the chain stitching on most of its jeans to save on manufacturing costs; leaving customers with a thin single stitch; not to mention the goofy tiny hem at the leg openings that are a feature of today's 501's. This pair of 501's® looks as close to new as you can get for a pair of pre-owned jeans as the texture has a nice rugged rigid feel as would be expected.
