Description: NAKAMICHI 1000ZXL RAM DEMONSTRATION SAMPLER TEST TAPE NAKAMICHI CORP & TOSHIBA EMI CATALOG NUMBER S 011 NAKAMICHI ZX C-30 METAL CASSETTE (TDK MA) - DOLBY B NOISE REDUCTION 700ZXL DECK ALSO USES THE SAME RAMM SYSTEM I have been a cassette aficionado for almost 50 years and have collected many audiophile tapes over the decades. This cassette comes from my private collection. This listing is for an extremely rare RAMM sampler demonstration tape specifically for the 1000ZXL cassette deck. This tape has 15 selections of short music samples that are designed to demonstrate the use of the unique RAMM system that was incorporated into the 1000ZXL deck. Those of you that are not aware the 1000ZXL used a completely different RAMM system with a 5Hz digital signal encoded between the tracks on the tape to search and play selections in any order. This is the cassette that the dealers used to show how it operates. This tape is completely operational the sound quality of the samples is what you would expect from the later released Nakamichi Reference Recordings with exception of the master deck being a 1000ZXL. This was released to coincide with the advent of the 1000ZXL and new at the time Metal tape formulations. The sampler selections are only on side A. Nak left the B side blank to allow customers to try the metal formula. I did test this on a 1000ZXL deck Side A is 100% intact. Side B has LP recordings on it from decades ago. Sheffield Lab LAB 4 segments along with an Amanda McBroom track. HiCom II and ZX-7 written on the inside of the J card as well. Cosmetic condition is good, the tape shows it has been used and handled in the last 44 years, but it operates perfectly. It is physically clean with no dirt or nicotine contamination, J card is very decent overall. Jewel case also shows some wear, no cracks or broken pieces.
