Description: DESCRIPTION:This listing is for a really fantastic 1939 World Fair Souvenir. It's a 12-1/4" inch tall Trylon & Perisphere Bank & Thermometer. The piece is constructed of lithographed and painted tin sheet metal and features colorful graphics on the base. The Trylon has a glass thermometer on the front and the perisphere is the bank with a slot on back and door on the bottom. The perisphere and trylon were the central symbols of the 1939 World's Fair and were used in a wide range of promotional materials. CONDITION:This is an amazing piece that has survived 85 years! The condition is good and it displays wonderfully. - Tip of trylon has been slightly bent.- No key for the door on the bottom of the bank.- The thermometer is present but has a crack and not functioning.- Minor scuffs and scratches but the colorful lithographed base is excellent! A hard to find "must have" piece for the serious World's Fair collector Note: Items description and condition are in the eye of the beholder so PLEASE refer to pictures to help determine this item's attributes to your own satisfaction.
