Description: REDUCED!!! In doing research I believe this to be a vintage Holmes and Edwards flatware box. Box measures approx. 14 3/4 inches long by 10 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches deep. Top is a light wood grain and bottom is black. Edges are dove tailed and hinges are metal. The handle is a wooden triangle. Inside is a light purple felt lining. Top has a circular paper sticker that says "Prevent Tarnish Container - IS - Approved by International Silver Co." Oval gold paper sticker in the bottom of the bottom says "Tested and approved, serial number 2231, Good Housekeeping Institute, conducted by Good Housekeeping Magazine". There is a red star on the label. Inside has 8 small slots and 6 large slots (serving pieces?). Refer to pictures as they are part of the description. It is a used item - a few miner scratches noted. It is a great piece for flatware but could be repurposed for a jewelry box. Please email any questions as all sales are final.
