Description: Sherline Mill Lathe 3/4" Threaded MT1 Watchmaker Headstock Spindle 40230. Will fit Sherline's WW and 8mm Watchmaker collet adapters and closers. Spindle has a tight interference fit to stock bearings which means that headstock install will require rigging, heat/freezing, and an arbor press. Includes pictured locking collar. Very minor wear on Spindle nose face end and Tommy bar holes as pictured. Also included are 2 brand new Class 5 ABEC5 / P5 upgraded bearings with rubber seals which help keep the permanent lubrication grease intact and from weeping out, and fine dust from getting in, promoting longevity. These bearings are rated for higher speeds and cooler operating temperatures in addition to higher accuracy over the stock C3 bearings. First bearing has already been installed using the above methods to make a self-service headstock rebuild easier. Was disassembled from a perfectly fine low-use headstock for an ER Spindle conversion using freezing/induction heating methods to prevent damage. These replacement/upgrade parts would run about a $200 from Sherline. Will combine items and charge actual shipping.
