Description: SUPER 1/6 PLATE TINTYPE - PRETTY YOUNG LADY INSIDE A NEAR MINT THERMOPLASTIC CASE "MOTHER EMBRACING CHILD" - Here is a wonderful sixth plate tintype of a pretty young lady adorned in her finest attire and contained inside a near mint thermoplastic case is what you are considering in my listing. Her likeness is cased inside a thermoplastic case known in Paul Berg's bible on 19th Century cases as, "Mother Embracing her Child" or Berg 1-98. A fantastic pictorial case and image would make an excellent addition to any collection of 19th Century photography. Good luck to the next caretaker of this beautiful cased portrait. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of this case as part of my description. The tintype contains gorgeous contrast, tonal range, amazing sharpness and a touch of warm tinting on the woman's face. The sixth plate case as mentioned above is in near mint condition. The only two flaws I can find are a very tiny hairline at the clasp and a touch of wear to the velvet pillow. The exterior is in amazing original condition with gorgeous sheen, the hinges remain tight and the clasp is in fine working order.
