Description: The The Union - Castle Lines' RMMV Athlone Castle was originally launched in 1938, primarily used to take passengers between Southampton and South Africa, then used as a troop ship in ww2, where she carried nearly 150k servicemembers to their duty stations. Then back as a passenger liner until being scrapped in 1967: - June 4, 1955 Dinner menu- June 7, 1955 Dinner Menu- June 9, 1955 Dinner menu- June 10, 1955 Dinner menu- June 12, 1955 Dinner menu- June 16, 1955 - Dinner menu with cruise extract and passenger autographs. This comes from the estate of a cruise ship aficionado who enjoyed cruise ships and also collected items. According to receipts many of these items were bought at antique stores in the 1990's, and have been kept safe in plastic envelopes within a binder, and inside of a trunk ever since. They were carefully catalogued into sections.
