Description: Vintage Tobie New York shirtwaist dress. It is a beautiful grayish light purple color, with I believe plastic faceted buttons. I could not capture the exact color of the fabric-my camera kept adjusting it. The color of the fabric does change depending on the lighting you are in-sometimes it’s a more subdued gray, others almost lavender. The closest I feel the color is, is the photo with the ruler and the tag that has the model and possibly size on it and the one with the skirt stretched out. It is stamped 4801 on the order line, then 5223 18, so possibly size 18?, but please remember sizes were much smaller back then and the waist does not have any give to it. It does not say the material content, it has a slight texture in some of the threads. Please look at all the measurement photos to get the best idea if this will work for you. Lying flat, I measured very approximately 15 1/2” waist, 19” shoulders, 16 1/2” armpit to armpit, 17” l shoulder to waist seam, 29 1/2” l waist seam to bottom of skirt, 18 1/2” l arm, and at least 67” of skirt when pulled end to end. The shoulders and bodice are one piece, so I placed the ruler where it looks like the shoulder seam would be. The skirt is amazing-there is so much material! It is definitely twirl worthy. The armpit gussets have some discoloration, there are extra/loose/uncut threads, etc. The belt appears to have been used separately from the dress and looks a different color, has some wear/tears in the fabric. There are 2 delicate loops for it, but I didn’t want the belt to pull on them, so I didn’t take a photo with the belt while it was hanging. This was found stored in a tote, so it definitely needs pressing. It came from, and is now in, a smoke free home. **Selling As-Is, with the understanding the color will most likely be different than the photos and the measurements are approximate**.
