Description: This is a Vintage Meriden B Company Roll Top Butter Dish Quadruple Plate. It stands about 12" high and 8" wide. It shows some wear here and there. The lid rotates to a full open setting. There are four "V" shaped holders on the sides for utensils. There are two chains with pins hanging down from the sides. I think they were used to keep the rolling lid in a closed position. The loops where the pins go no longer have a closed hole to fit the pins. Some of the decorative leaf is missing from the top crossbar. The bottom shows its marking with a number 4978, see photos.
