Description: Vintage 1960s OLYMPIA BREWING LIGHT MOTION BEER SIGN with Western Beer Prices ~ Wood Frame 42 Inches ~ WORKS SEE VIDEO Uber rare and very cool early-60's Olympia Lighted Motion Beer Sign from an Estate in the Pacific Northwest. Seems to be a version marketed to beer retailers and bars with carry out, as it has a "Western Beer Prices" price list section which we think is super cool. Makes us want to belly up and get a Case of Stubbys before we split the scene. Sure wish we could get a 6 Pack of Tall Boys for $1.45 these days! From what we've learned, this sign was part of the last series made with a wood frame. It was made by Century Display Mfg Corp of Franklin Park, Illinois, and measures 42 inches long, 15 inches tall and 4-1/4 inches deep. Weighs in at a hefty 20 pounds. All original motor spins a motion disc that makes bubbles in the beer glass appear to rise to the top. The wood frame appears to be walnut. It has both rear mounting taps for wall mount and 2 top loops for hanging on chains (chain included). Wood frame is in good condition. All original and matching screws for the metal frame and wood mounting. The gold plated plastic frame and ribbed end pieces are in decent shape with some plating wear, nicks, scratches and discoloration (no major defects). The acetate in the "Beer Prices" section has lost some background (yellow) color as seen in photos but it's not too distracting, and the clear plastic cover over prices and graphic is moderately scratched and yellowed. The outside of the metal cabinet has original paint with some limited oxidation, wear, nicks and scratches. Wiring and switch are good (original), and both lights / bulbs are working.
