The thick leather sheath can be carried vertically on the belt as normal or horizontally commonly known as scout carry with straps on the back of the sheath, the easiest way to tell these are second run besides the leather sheath is this 4.5 has a hidden lanyard hole at the end of the handle and the latest runs have an extended lanyard slot. Another way to tell is by looking at the handle attachment hardware, both can be compared to see which is the newer runs and which aren't. It would still retain its full factory lifetime warranty and is made in the USA!
